The basic shot is of a southbound NS autorack train passing over the Tennessee River at Chattanooga, TN. The slide was scanned, and I believe that there was a bit of cropping done to get the composition balanced. The image was relatively lacking in overall color, so I proceeded to desaturate the image the rest of the way to a black & white appearance. I desaturated the image, rather than greyscaling it, so that I could retain the full pallete to colorize the image with a blue tint (to go along with the blue heron theme). The original image wasn't very sharp, but after the described manipulation, the fuzziness actually adds to the end result by giving it a dreamy, surreal effect. All processing was done with Paint Shop Pro 7.
